There can never be a vitality in the sadhana, without an abundant enthusiasm and interest in life. So where does this enthusiasm come from? Sadhana does not mean to crush the life or strangling the life by squeezing the source of its energy. There should be progress in life with natural ease leading to the harmony of the vrutties (tendencies and inclinations) resulting in the experience of peace, balance, equanimity, patience and joy; the energy of these Gunas are then utilized with awareness in the various incidents in life and as a result the life is experienced as fulfilled and blessed. This is the process of sadhana. Life is not worth living if we are taking care of the life's incidents as if the living dead body is fulfilling its duty. This is even worse than the life without any purpose or aim. There should be heartfelt enthusiasm in the Jivatma (soul) for the sadhana but where will it get this enthusiasm? What is the root inspiration for this heartfelt enthusiasm? We will get this root inspiration and enthusiasm needed in the sadhana by developing the Bhava of love and devotion in our mind and heart towards our life's satguru.
