As the attraction of the sadhak towards the Guru increases, he needs to take support of many Gunas (qualities). This support is taken as a tool only and not by getting involved and attached. Otherwise it would be considered as being sentimentalism of the sadhak. Sadhak makes efforts with heartfelt sincerity to develop Guru-Bhava in his vision for the totality of his life. If he keeps in his mind the idea to sublimate his negative nature by any means and lays around in the Sharan (refuge)-Bhava of the Guru with heartfelt intense Bhavna with awareness, it is much easier to sublimate the Jiva Nature. Such sadhak who has taken refuge in Guru-Bhava with love, devotion, awareness and knowledge only needs to offer everything. He continues to offer oblation in the Yagna of offering with Bhava of heart continuously. In this way he continues to be purified. It is possible that the the tradition of offering (physical or subtle) at the holy feet of Guru may be one of the many methods of offering. It is not proper if sadhak does not keep in mind, the purpose of the development of his life behind such offerings. It is an illusion if sadhak believes that he will be benefitted since he has offered many things to Guru. Sadhak can never be benefited in this manner. It is possible that the ego of Jiva-Nature may increase in sadhak if the he does not keep subtle meaning of the offering in his within with knowledge and awareness. It is also possible that sadhak may be lured into believing that Guru belongs to only him. It is only proper if the purpose behind the Bhavna of offering is to increase the attraction for the Guru and heartfelt Bhava of refuge in the Guru, and sadhak experiences the expression of such Bhava within him.
